  • RV 6  ~ rated for approximately 230 amp-hours.*
    • * 6 Volt batteries, 2 required to create a 12V circuit.

Why is an RV battery or batteries needed for your RV?
  • Provides power for the brake away switch during travel in the event that the trailer separates from the tow vehicles (towable RVs).
  • Provides power to 12V DC items throughout the RV when not connected to a source of 120V AC power (towable & motorized RVs).
  • Can absorb voltage spikes in the 12V DC system to help protect electronic devices (towable & motorized RVs).
  • Support for starter battery as a backup source for engine starting (motorized RVs).
Safety notes regarding Deep Cycle Flooded Batteries:
  • Handle with care ~ flooded batteries, contain a sulfuric acid solution that is converted to water as the battery is discharged.
  • Seasonal awareness ~ due to the solution containing water, these batteries are prone to freeze and crack in the winter months.
  • Storage ~ flooded batteries, must be stored in a warm location when not in use.
  • Charging and use ~ flooded batteries will off-gas when charging. Be aware gases released can be combustible.
  • Proper Venting ~ flooded batteries must be vented when installed in a compartment.
